Defence Discount Community Terms and Conditions
‘Defence Discount Community’ (Community) is operated by ‘Defence Discount Service’ which is a trading name of Blue Light Card Ltd a registered England and Wales company under the company number 06581540, whose registered office is at Charnwood Edge Business Park Syston Road, Cossington, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, LE7 4UZ.
The Community is hosted by QuMind Limited, an independent online Market Research provider based in the UK that acts as a data processor on our behalf. Please click here to find out more information about QuMind.
These Terms and Conditions contain information to ensure you understand what is involved once you have become a member of the Community at ddscommunity.co.uk (Website).
Community Membership
We will contact selected Defence Discount Service cardholders to become a member of the Community. Those invited must complete and submit the registration survey by clicking on the link that we send in order to complete the registration process to be Community member. If you change your mind and do not wish to become a Community member before you complete the registration process then simply delete the email request or do not respond to it.
By registering to join the Community you confirm that you accept the following Terms and Conditions, Community Policy Rules and any applicable Competition terms. If you do not agree to any of these terms and policies, you must not use the Website.
The Community is free to modify these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Notice, Community Policy Rules and Competition terms at any time, and the most up-to-date version can be viewed at any time on the Website DDSCommunity.co.uk. These Terms and Conditions were most recently updated on 18 October 2023.
Who Can Join Community?
You must be 18 years old or over to join Community and so by registering to become a Community member you confirm that you are aged 18 years old or over. If you are not aged 18 or over please don’t register to join.
We are interested in your views as a Defence Discount Service member. The Community is for individual private and non-commercial use only. You are not permitted to join the Community if your use is for business or commercial purposes.
We can’t guarantee that by registering to join Community you will be given membership; we do have the right to refuse your registration at our discretion. This is because some of the scientific market research techniques we use might mean that we require a specific number of the Community for each gender, age group and region and so we may have to refuse applications to achieve the right “mix”. If your registration is rejected this doesn’t mean that we don’t value or appreciate your opinion; you might get another opportunity in the future so keep an eye out!
What Happens When You Register?
When you register, you will have to choose a password and/or provide other registration information. Please make sure that all the information you give is accurate and up-to-date and if any of your information changes once you have registered, please make sure that you update it in the ‘My Details’ area of the Website.
Giving us false information could result in your Community membership being withdrawn.
Your Community Membership
If confirmed, your membership to the Community will last unless it is withdrawn because you have breached any of these terms and conditions, or any documents referred to within it, or you remain inactive for a period of 3 months or more.
Your membership is for you, and only you. Please do not give anyone access to your account: keep it secure and do not share your log in details with anyone. You are solely responsible for all usage or activity on your account including use of the account by anyone other than you, with or without your permission, or anyone who has access to any computer from which your account is accessible.
If you do think that your account is no longer secure (for example, if you think someone has access to your account without your permission), please let us know immediately by contacting community@defencediscountservice.co.uk and change your password by visiting the ‘My Profile’ area of the Website.
Community Policy Rules
By being a Community member you agree to follow our Community Policy Rules. To see our Community Policy Rules please click here.
Competition terms
As a Community member you agree to enter into our (free of charge) prize draws, giveaways and competitions (Competitions). You agree to any applicable Competitions terms.
With this Community, the main reward you will get is having your opinions and feedback heard and genuinely driving decisions at Defence Discount Service. We wanted to make sure there is also a competition each month for the Community.
Member of the Month competition
Each month, the team at Defence Discount Service will pick a member who has inspired us most and that member will win a £100 gift card, or the option to split it into x2 £50 gift cards. This could be a piece of feedback from a survey, being active and contributing on the site or just sparking a great idea that we've taken inspiration from. The member will be notified via e-mail from one of the moderators and we will also post the member of the month in the 'News' section on the Website.
Random Prize Draw
We will also be running a random prize draw each month where four members will receive a £25 Gift Card each. This will be completely randomly selected but to be in with a chance of winning one of the gift cards you will have had to have participated in some form of activity in the month.
